What exactly do you record?
On board, we walk through every space with a handheld scanner that combines several cameras with a LiDAR sensor, a laser that measures distance. The cameras take thousands of overlapping images from every angle, while the LiDAR measures the geometry and tracks where each image was taken, so the yacht is rebuilt at true scale. Outside, we add drone and dockside imagery.
What is Gaussian splatting, and is it new?
It is the technique that turns those images into a photoreal 3D model: millions of tiny, semi-transparent particles of colour, refined until the model reproduces every photograph from every viewpoint. The method was published in 2023 by researchers at Inria and the Max Planck Institute, and has only recently become practical to capture, compress and stream on an ordinary website. Zillow, for example, began using it for property exteriors in 2025.
How is it different from Matterport or a 360° tour?
A 360° tour, including Matterport's classic walkthrough, is a set of photos taken from fixed tripod positions, and you jump from one to the next. Matterport's dollhouse is a simplified 3D mesh that shows the layout. Our tour is one continuous, photoreal 3D model: visitors walk freely, stop anywhere and see real depth and proportion as they move. The exterior is the same quality, a photoreal yacht you can circle around.
How long does the capture take, and how much detail does it get?
Most yachts take one day on board, interior and exterior together; larger yachts take longer, and we plan them individually. We cover every space at several heights and pass close along shelves, joinery, doors and frames, so what is under a table or on a shelf is in the model too. Cupboards and wardrobes appear as they were during the capture, so anything you want shown open, we capture open.
What do you need from us on the day?
The yacht staged as for a photo shoot, with lights on, blinds and curtains set, screens off and personal items put away, and one crew member to open spaces and switch lights. Nobody should move through the space being captured. Areas you would rather not show, such as crew quarters, we simply leave out.
How do you capture the exterior?
The decks are walked with the same scanner as the interior, so visitors walk from the aft deck straight inside. The hull is captured from the dock and, where needed, from a tender, and a drone circles the yacht at several heights where the marina allows it. A berth with clear sides and a bright, overcast day with little wind give the best result.
Where does the tour appear?
On your own website, under your brand. You paste one line of code and the tour sizes itself to your page. It plays only on the websites you approve, so it can't be embedded anywhere else.
What happens after a refit or a new interior?
We capture the yacht again and the tour updates in place: same code, same page, nothing to change on your website.
